“We must always say: ‘Blessed be God! Thank you, my God!’” These words of St Jeanne Jugan resounded in hearts at Holy Family Home on November 27, 2025. During this Holy Year of Hope, it was fitting for us, as Pilgrims of Hope, to pause on our Jubilee Journey to recognize God’s never failing care of our Home. Regular gifts of His Providence prove that “Hope does not disappoint.” (Romans 5:5)

Thanksgiving Day 2025 was the first federal holiday dedicated to expressing gratitude to God in our recently renovated Home. We hope that we started a new holiday tradition by gathering in the apartment dining room, for our festive meal, all our Residents from both St Joseph’s Care Unit and the Apartments. Residents, old-timers and new comers, agreed that it was “good to be together.” Little Sisters and Staff were happy with this arrangement as well. It enhanced the family spirit.
Reflections from the Residents catch the atmosphere of our celebrations. One said how much she appreciated Father Sullivan’s homily at Mass preceding dinner. Another stood back and sighed as she looked at the dining tables she had helped to set and decorate: “This is lovelier than I have ever seen!” When asked if she would be going home with her family for the holiday another Resident said: “This is my home and family!” Several Residents were able to share the joys of the day by having their family members as guests. All in all agreed with Jeanne Jugan: “We must always say: ‘Blessed be God! Thank you, my God!’
