Who Gets the Best Gift?
In the words of Patricia, one of our 24 Residents experiencing their first Christmas at Holy Family Home: “Here it is, Jesus’ birthday, and we’re getting all the gifts!”
Then Mary Lou, a long-time Resident, added, “What grabs me is the delight the Little Sisters get from giving us the gifts. They seem so happy to come around to distribute, as a community, the lovely presents they begged for us!”
The amazement of our Residents makes us Little Sisters ever more aware that we are, indeed, the spoiled children of divine Providence working every day, but in an extravagant way at Christmastime, through the generosity of our benefactors. Of course, the donors claim that they are the ones getting the joy of giving.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Snow Family Peering in from our Patio
Providence also provided some perfect, easy-to-pack snow as scenery for Christmastime 2025. We took advantage of the snowfall, with valuable help and enthusiasm from our live-in discerner, Ali, to bring back the Snow Family on the patio of St Joseph’s Care Unit.
The snow-people proudly presented the addition of a newborn in Mrs. Snow’s arms, and a little snow-bird flew in for just 24 hours before melting away. Everyone — Residents, Little Sisters, staff, friends & families — was upliftded by the sight of them at the patio door.
