Holy Family Home’s Phillies’ Fans

By April 8, 2025April 10th, 2025No Comments

“Take me out to the ball game,” sang the busload of Phillies Fans as they pulled out from our new front entrance at Noon on April 3. The Phillies themselves supplied the tickets, thanks to our Advisory Board member, Dan Di Mucci, who arranges with them each year to invite Holy Family Home gratis. That’s how a happy group of Residents from St. Joseph’s Care Unit and the Apartments, a few Staff, Jeanne Jugan Associates and Little Sisters, as well as several friends and relatives were able to root for their home team, “live!”

Our Chaplain, Father James Sullivan, offered our 11 o’clock Mass at 10:30 a.m. this day so he could send them off with a blessing in good time. Our kitchen and activity staff prepared box lunches and treats. Our volunteer driver, Dan Huyette, assured transportation. Even the weather cooperated: early morning rain clouds disappeared as the fans drove off.

Blessed be God for a great day!
