Our faithful friends on the Board of St Francis provided a party for “All-Hallows-Eve”, AKA “Halloween”, with treats, and costumes, and lively music. It was a wonderful time!
All saints Day and All Souls Day in November each year keep us connected. Heaven and Earth are closer together as we commemorate the Communion of Saints, that wonderful fellowship of all the faithful — living on Earth (the Church Militant), in Purgatory (the Church Penitent), and in Heaven (the Church Triumphant) — united as one mystical body under Christ.
This year, the Hospitality Club helped us to celebrate the Saints by working with the Residents to create inspirational pumpkins and then challenging them with some intriguing Saint-Trivia.
On All Souls Day, we remembered and prayed for our loved ones who have gone before us. With our renovated chapel open this year we were happy to resume our tradition of inviting family members of Residents who have passed away over the last year to a special Mass during which each one’s name is read and a rose placed in their memory in front of the Altar.
Within the liturgical rhythm of the Year 2025, we rejoice as the Saints & Souls reinforce our closeness in the Communion of Saints.
