Old Traditions in New Settings
Christmastime 2024 welcomed the Annual Christmas Visit from St. Charles Seminarians, coming from their new setting in Ambler, to our newly remodeled Chapel.

Laetare! As the Liturgy of the 3rd Sunday of Advent summoned us to “REJOICE!” again this year, the seminarians from St. Charles Seminary arrived at our newly completed Front Entrance. It was indeed a cause for rejoicing to see all these faith-filled young men.

Mother Celine Thérèse warmly thanked them for responding “yes” to the Lord’s call and for making room for us in their busy schedules. She assured them of the prayers of the extended family of Holy Family Home, that those who persevered to ordination would be holy priests and good shepherds; and that those who would discern another calling would share the fruits of their studies wherever the Lord may lead them. As usual, their entertainment brought laughter and joy to us all.

This joy was deepened as their Rector, Auxiliary Bishop Keith J. Chylinski celebrated Holy Mass for us, with the active participation of the seminarians.

Bishop Chylinski opened his homily by asking if anyone knew why he was wearing pink vestments. Dorothy, 93, didn’t miss a beat in responding: “Pink is for joy on Laetare Sunday!” Yes! Laetare Joy launched our Christmas season.
