‘Tis the Season of Creation

The Season of Creation is an annual ecumenical celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. It takes place from September 1 (World Day of Prayer for Creation) to October 4 (Feast of St. Francis of Assisi).

Pope Francis has invited Catholics to join Christians of all traditions to take part by prayer, litter clean-ups, cultivating gardens, avoiding `wastefulness, and other efforts to care for our Common Home.

We asked: How can we at Holy Family participate?

Here are a few responses:

Mac says: Water flowers with a smile!

Lily shows on her face the uplifting effects of flowers.

Marie and Dolores say: Take time to smell the roses!

Sr. Maria Catherine participates by picking up litter.

Lucas and Helena admire the fruit of their labor.

Sr. Mary Grace admires the beauty while she cleans up the weeds.

Sr. Kathleen and Mother Celine Therese enjoy trimming.

Sr. Myriam and Sr. Elizabeth spot a spider!

Christine and Patrick are economizing electricity by turning off lights before leaving their rooms.

Sr. Elisabeth “JB” points to a helpful reminder.

Ruth remembering to save water shows she cares.

Sr. Maria Catherine, Sr. Kathleen, Sr. Veronica, Sr. Myriam, Sr. Elizabeth and Mother Celine Therese are ” blooming where they’re planted!”

Sr. Veronica, Sr. Maria Catherine and Mother Celine Therese follow Sr. Elizabeth’s lead waving.
