Seminarians Spreading Christmas Joy through Song
On Dec. 13, the feast of St. Lucy, seminarians and priest faculty from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary visited Holy Family Home where they have been coming to spread Christmas joy through song for more than 50 years. After a hiatus of three years because of COVID, they were back! These 62 of the 75 men preparing to serve as priests in the Archdiocese lightened our hearts with new hope for the future of our Local Church.
Mother Celine Thérèse warmly thanked them for responding “yes” to the Lord’s call and for coming to us on this day, which happened to be the day before their final exams. She assured them of the prayers of the extended family of Holy Family Home for their perseverance in their vocation and told them how much we count on them to be holy priests and good shepherds.
Another highlight on this Feast of St. Lucy was the presence of two new Auxiliary Bishops of Philadelphia recently named by Pope Francis: Bishop-elect Keith J. Chylinski and Bishop-elect Christopher Cooke. Mother Celine invited them to come to celebrate Holy Mass here, when our Chapel’s renovation will be completed. Yes, this day brought us to look to a future full of hope!
