Season of Creation 2022
The Season of Creation, the annual ecumenical celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home that takes place from September 1, the World Day of Prayer for Creation, to October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi found us wondering what we would do this year…
This year’s theme:
The Season of Creation at Holy Family Home — What can WE do?
Whisper a prayer for others as you turn out lights!
Let’s listen to the voice of the creation pleading for energy reduction so there’s enough for everyone on our planet. Turning out lights, TVs, radios, computers, and other appliances when not needed can be our contribution to the Season of Creation!
Natural light and fresh air, praise the Lord!
We can also let our hearts sing praise to our Creator when we can open windows during the daytime to let natural light come in.
The Bible tells of spiritual energy which is transmitted to humans. It begins with God’s generation of light. This illumination is the spontaneous effect of divine Love in action. We’re called to conserve electricity so as to let everyone share in the gift of light.
