Awesome Aging 101

Holy Family Home could offer a course on “How to Grow Old Gracefully.” This October, we had lessons from two outstanding professors: Rose and Helen.

101 Years of Fun, Tears and Smiles all wrapped in one! Rose has been a ray of sunshine at Holy Family Home since March 2, 2015. She’s first up in the morning, first in the Chapel each day, first for meals, first in bed at night. Early to bed and early to rise has kept her healthy for a hundred years, wealthy in gifts and graces, and delightfully wise! We are united with all her family and friends in thanking our Great God for her 101 years!

Surrounded by her family and her admirers, Helen marked her 101st milestone on October 14, 2022.

Since December 20, 2013 Helen has been a peaceful presence at Holy Family Home. Seems this has been her way all her life. Speaking about her job at Strawbridge and Clothier after her children were raised, she said she never had any trouble with difficult customers. “I would simply listen to them.”

United with all her family and friends, we thank our Great God for the gift of her long life, the gift of her witness to family values (“They love me and I love them!”) and the gift of her peaceful presence among us!
