Participating in the Synod
Holy Family Home has been happy to take part on the global dialogue launched by our Holy Father Francis when he called the Synod on Synodality. Our Community participated in one virtual listening session organized by the Archdiocese Philadelphia and three Residents with their Little Sister participated in another. Both listening sessions turned out to be surprisingly prayerful and enlightening.
When reflecting together on specific points proposed, the whole group of about 40, mostly laity but a few priests, deacons, and religious as well, was divided into breakout rooms of 4. That way, we could more easily listen and exchange ideas.
When discussing how the Church might better help us grow in our relationship with Jesus and the Church, our 91-year-old Dorothy piped up with: “Just come to Holy Family Home and see how the Little Sisters of the Poor support us on our final journey back to our Father in Heaven.”
